Come meet me and get a copy of my latest book about the history of professional baseball in Des Moines, Iowa, in April and May.
I’ll be at the Leid Public Library in Clarinda, Iowa, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 20, to talk about Des Moines’ rich professional baseball history dating back to the fall of 1886 and sign copies of my book, “‘Pug,’ ‘Fireball,’ and Company: 116 Years of Professional Baseball in Des Moines, Iowa.” I look forward to returning to my birthplace that has its own unique baseball story.
I’m cohosting another author event at Plain Talk Books & Coffee in Des Moines at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16. The business is located at 602 E. Grand Ave.

Upcoming Book Signing Event

I'll be in small town baseball territory when I sign copies of my latest book, 'Pug,' 'Fireball' and Company: 116 Years of Professional Baseball in Des Moines, Iowa, at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Rippey Public Library in Rippey, Iowa. Rippey is located a few miles north of Perry, Iowa, in central Iowa. The town of about 220 people has a decades-long baseball heritage. A high school baseball doubleheader will be played on an 85-year-old field in Rippey starting at noon. Come watch me throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the first game as well as get a copy of my latest book, which received a favorable review in the fall 2024 issue of The Annals of Iowa.
